2025 Deepavali Celebration As part of our 2025 Deepavali celebrations, a special assembly programme titled “Deepavali Kathakalashebam – Folklore Dance and Drama” was presented by the Venus Academy of Arts on 22 October 2025. The programme showcased vibrant elements of traditional dance and drama, highlighting the cultural significance of Deepavali. Through this engaging performance, students gained a deeper understanding and appreciation of the festival’s traditions and values, making it a meaningful and enriching experience for all.

MTL Fortnight Activities
Primary 1 – Kolam Designing As part of Mother Tongue Language Fortnight, our Primary 1 students participated in a Kolam designing activity. Through this hands-on experience, students explored traditional Indian art patterns while developing their creativity and fine motor skills. The activity also provided an opportunity for students to appreciate the cultural significance of Kolam and its role in festive celebrations.
Primary 2 – Agal Vilakku Colouring Our Primary 2 students took part in an Agal Vilakku colouring activity. Through this engaging activity, students explored the significance of the traditional oil lamp, commonly associated with festive occasions such as Deepavali. The activity allowed students to express their creativity while deepening their appreciation of cultural traditions.
Primary 3 – Thoranam Making Our Primary 3 students participated in a Thoranam making activity. Through this hands-on experience, students learned about the traditional decorative craft commonly used during festive occasions. The activity encouraged creativity while helping students appreciate the cultural significance of Thoranam in welcoming prosperity and good fortune.
Primary 4 – Glass Painting Our Primary 4 students participated in a glass painting activity. Through this creative hands-on experience, students explored artistic expression while learning about traditional motifs and designs. The activity encouraged creativity and helped deepen their appreciation of cultural art forms.
Primary 5 – Kite Making Our Primary 5 students participated in a kite making activity. Through this hands-on experience, students explored traditional craft techniques while expressing their creativity through design and colours. The activity also helped them appreciate the cultural significance of kites in various festive celebrations.
Primary 6 – Basket Weaving Our Primary 6 students participated in a basket weaving activity. Through this hands-on experience, students learned traditional weaving techniques while developing patience and fine motor skills. The activity also deepened their appreciation for cultural craftsmanship and its relevance in everyday life.
